Setting Up FTP Using Cyberduck
Cyberduck is an open-source (free) application used for FTP on Mac OS X & Windows. The first thing you need to do is download a copy at http://www.cyberduck.ch/. Please follow the installation steps to install the application on your computer. The following tutorial is provided as a courtesy to our customers to help you configure your FTP software to work with RMD’s FTP Server.
Third-party software can not be supported directly by RMD. If you have further questions about configuring Cyberduck, please visit http://cyberduck.ch/help/en/.
Requirements
Before you start, be sure you have these handy:
Username: Your FTP username.
Password: Your FTP password.
These will have been sent to you in an email from a member of the RMD web team.
Instructions
Once Cyberduck is installed, we can create a bookmark. Click on the “+” sign at the bottom left corner to create a bookmark, see Figure 1 below:
Figure 1: Click the plus sign to begin.
Use the following settings as illustrated in Figure 2:
Nickname: RMD FTP Server
Protocol: FTP (File Transfer Protocol)
Server: rmdl.co.uk
Port: 21
Username: Your FTP Username
Under “More Options”, change the following:
Path (optional): N/A
Connect Mode: Passive
Encoding: Default
Download Folder: Choose a folder on your computer you wish to download files.
Transfer Files: Default
Web URL: N/A
Notes (optional): N/A
Save and then double-click on the bookmark to connect. When you first connect you will be asked for the password, you can choose to save this password on this popup so you won’t have to enter it again.
